Melbourne-based Malaysian-Australian musical chameleon Yeo is known for continually exploring the dimensions of contemporary R&B, pop and electronic music. Yeo has been praised and as a multi-instrumentalist, in the studio and on stage, alternating between keys, bass and keytar.
Yeo’s latest R&B-infused pop album Recovery Channel (2019) takes on his unique genre-bending sound and wry lyricism to a more personal space, exploring themes of love, conflict, the rarity of hope.
Desire Path (2017) received Feature Album on 3RRR, PBS and Radio Adelaide and single ‘Never Wanted That’ with Asta surpassing 1.2M Spotify streams.
Breakthrough album Ganbaru (2016) saw notable singles ‘Quiet Achiever’ surpassing 1.7M Spotify streams and ‘Icarus’ enjoying 6 months of rotation on national radio, leading to his infamous keytar solo on triple j Like A Version.
Alongside the studio releases and solo project, Yeo has held many roles including music director and band member to Emma Louise and band member for Mo’Ju; as well as producing and co-writing Asta’s EP Shine and co-producing Charlie Lim’s EP CHECK-HOOK.
Yeo has toured nationally selling out Howler and Newtown Social Club and performed internationally in Ecuador, at Iceland Airwaves, Mosaic Music Festival (Singapore) and has supported the likes of HÆLOS (UK), Giraffage (US), Kimbra (NZ) and Harts (AU).
