Office Dog

Office Dog is a New Zealand indie rock band known for their understated charm, jangly guitar work, and songwriting. Blending lo-fi sensibilities with strong melodies, their music pairs warm textures with reflective lyrics, often capturing everyday moments with a light, wry tone. Drawing on classic indie influences while maintaining a distinct identity, the band has carved out their place in Aotearoa’s modern guitar music scene.

The project was formed in late 2021 by Kane Strang, following a run of solo releases on Flying Nun Records and Dead Oceans. After moving from Dunedin to Auckland, he set out to build a more collaborative project alongside drummer Mitchell Innes and bassist Rassani Tolovaa. Over the next year, their ideas developed into a full set of songs, leading to their debut album Spiel (2023). This new material and the lead single ‘Big Air’ in particular quickly gained traction online.

They have since released their Doggerland EP (2024), and in 2026 Office Dog are well and truly back with their new record Prime Corner - out now via Flying Nun Records.
