After a break of over four years between album releases, Australian duo Big Scary announce fourth LP Daisy. Jo Syme and Tom Iansek have characterised the new record as their most playful yet, with plenty of drama, and for the first time, no guitars. Daisy is released April 30th by the band's label Pieater.
The first single is 'Stay', out Feb 23rd. Discombobulated percussion and frantic synths mirror the anxiety you sometimes feel when invited to leave the safe bubble of home. Nevertheless, the song acknowledges with quiet gratitude that the invitation from friends is offered, and probes at what point does safe and comfortable become a trap?
The music video was written by Syme, and sees a calm, almost sinister Iansek cooped up in a room of sweaty, thick air and neon-lighting; offset by cuts to Syme frantically caught in a loop of panic.
